The Northern Group was founded in the early 1980's By a
handful of enthusiasts based in North Yorkshire. Northern
Dexters have extended to cover a much wider area which runs
from the Scottish borders in the north to the River Trent
in the south. Northern Dexters are still growing with 100+
members to date.

At Northern Dexters we are committed to furthering this
distinctive breed of cattle, and are proud to have the English
Nature "Limestone Project" in our own back yard

| Activities: |
At Northern Dexters we always have a full activity list.
Herd visits, advice and tuition sessions, beef marketing
forums and of course shows and various social events. Why
not visit us at the Northern Dexter Marquee at the Great
Yorkshire Show in July. You will receive the warmest of
welcomes.

Northern Dexter Calf Show 2006: The show was
kindly hosted by Ian Emmerson and welcomed members with tea,
coffee and bacon sandwiches. There were 12 animals
forward and the Champion calf was won by Topster Sweet May
owned by Caroline Ryder, and reserve was Planetree owned by
S & K Darnbrook.
Spring Sales at York: 27 Dexters forward, 10 cows
sold from 120gns to 480gns. 16 heifers from 110gns to
580gns and a bull sold for 340gns.

Northern Dexters publish an excellent Newsletter
on a bimonthly basis. Covering a wide range of animal welfare
issues, DEFRA issues, AI / bull fees and Northern Dexter event
reports. A list of dates for your diary is also included complete
with committee member contacts. |

| Bull List: |
The Northern Dexter Bull List is a full colour
brochure advertising our finest Northern Dexter bulls for
stud, produced by Bill Burn and Alastair Birks, it is the
perfect way to tap into the stud bull market. |

| Merchandise: |
Northern Dexters offer a wide range of merchandise from
our famous "Yellow Mug of Dexters", to collectable
Dexter figures by Stef and a very informative Field to Freezer
video or DVD and quilted Dexter cloth cows. Please see our

At only £6.00 per year, the annual subscription for
Northern Dexters is good value for money. As part of the
joining fee you will receive our regular newsletter and
a full Northern Dexter member list. We also have various
'cow' related social events throughout the year where everyone
will be made welcome.
